Joe watches too many movies. He grew up in central Washington, earned his B.A. in Education and Fine Art, an M.A. in Theology and currently works in the printing industry. During school, he fit in a few film classes. He is interested in writing, theology and hopes to one day compose the ultimate Joe Versus the Volcano commentary track.

You can always tell when Luc has his hand in a movie, just by the trailer, and if you're not sure it's him, look for him at the end of the credits just to make sure.
Always high paced action that he delivers with that UK style of shooting and story telling, wether producing or directing, he sure is good.

Great job with last weeks show! You kept me interested in a director I knew little about besides seeing the opening of his film The Professional, which one of my teachers at the New York Film Academy at Harvard showed to my class. I only remember the opening scene, when a menancing figure looms out of pitch black lighting in the background of a character. The scene was almost Hitchcock-ian in its style.

Best Soundtrack: The Fellowship of the Ring- Howard Shore~ Wow, so many original themes were created by Shore for this film! Each theme seems like it was developed from years of studying each culture apparent in this film. Though James Newton Howard's King Kong was critically acclaimed by many critics and may have been the choice of many in this category, I found it too bombastic and slightly repetitive.
Essential Scene: Near the end of Return of the King~ Aragorn turns to his slim army at the Gates of Mordor after being tempted by the Eye of Sauron. A glimmer of hope twinkles in his eyes as he faces his brave comrades and softly whispers, "For Frodo." The army charges against all odds and oncoming doom, with the hobbits Pippin and Merry in the pack. If the viewer did not get goosebumps during that scene, I do not know what will impact an audience.
Worst Film: Since Jackson is primarily a horror filmmaker (i.e. The Frighteners, Brain Dead) I was anxiously awaiting a suspenseful and spooky remake of King Kong. I despised this film for its exaggerated action scenes, its obnoxious length, its thin and underdeveloped characters, and the way it attempted to bring the spookiness level down to PG, when the film was rated PG-13. Yes the special effects looked cool, but I found myself not caring about Kong's death, nor any other character's outcome in this bland film.

Great job on this director! He's definitely an intriguing, artful director. He also has great characters. For my money, Nikita and Victor are two of the most realistic portrayals on film. Many movies, especially American ones, have this idealized view of what characters like that do, how they tend to draw out their actions with monologues and ponderings. Not Nikita and Victor: They just go about their business, dispatching their victims with businesslike vigor. That's so lifelike as to be scary.

I own two other pairs of MBT SHOES but the MBT Fora is by far the most comfortable and best looking. I usually take a size 7 in MBT Fumba but needed a size 6.5 in this style. I wore them an entire day no blisters or discomfort. I would order a half size smaller because it is a wider shoe with alot of toe room unlike previous styles.
