Joe watches too many movies. He grew up in central Washington, earned his B.A. in Education and Fine Art, an M.A. in Theology and currently works in the printing industry. During school, he fit in a few film classes. He is interested in writing, theology and hopes to one day compose the ultimate Joe Versus the Volcano commentary track.

Melissa has a B.A. in History and an M.A. in English with an emphasis on Film Studies. She has taken classes on everything from silent to romance to post-colonial films and much in between. Her research and interests lie mainly in feminist film theory, women in film, Hitchcock and the studio era. At the end of the day, however, she just loves films; from Notorious to Die Hard!

    Another good show. I think you guys work a lot better for comedic directors. This is from no fault of your own, but a lot of the "serious" directors have been discussed ad nausum. It's nice to hear people talk straight about Reitman, Brooks, Hawks, etc. Comedy is underappreciated.

    Excellent show. For what it's worth, I think 'Young Frankenstein' is Mel's best film. I agree with Melissa - 'Dracula Dead and Loving it' is a bit of a dog. And thanks for playing The Eisenhowers - I knew that old Frankenstein reference would pay off one day!

    I discovered your podcast about a month ago and am almost caught up to the current shows. I had to post about Joe's love of Space Balls. I have a similar problem because no one understands why I love Army of Darkness so much. I usually say it is the most pleasureable guilty pleasure I have. It isn't in any way a work of art but it is so much fun. By the way, I'd love to hear a Sam Raimi episode. His career is similar to Peter Jackson--both started in low budget horror and worked up to blockbuster franchises while still being able to create smaller, more intimate films (like A Simple Plan and The Gift).

    I own two other pairs of MBT SHOES but the MBT Fora is by far the most comfortable and best looking. I usually take a size 7 in MBT Fumba but needed a size 6.5 in this style.
